Close the reading gap

Children in Ethiopia are falling years behind in reading. Your gift places a trained tutor in the classroom from day one.

Most children in Ethiopian government schools fall 2-4 reading levels behind by Grade 3, with no system in place to catch them up. Reading Corps places a trained local tutor with every child. Children are grouped by actual reading level, not grade. They work daily until they move up a level. Phase 1 starts in Assela with the Oromia Education Bureau.
